Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Kawakari collects when you book, why we need it, and what rights you have over it.

This is a working draft prepared for launch preparation. It must be reviewed by a qualified Nigerian lawyer before Kawakari accepts live payments.

1. Data we collect

Booking data: your name, email address, phone number, pickup or drop-off address, passenger count, travel date and time, and flight number where you provide one.

Account data: if you create an account, your name, email, phone number and password credentials held by our authentication provider.

Support data: the content of messages you send us.

Technical data: basic server logs needed to operate and secure the website.

2. Why we use it

To create, confirm and deliver your booking, including sharing the minimum necessary details with the assigned driver.

To take payment through our payment provider and to keep financial records required by Nigerian law.

To contact you about your booking and to respond to support enquiries.

3. Card details

Kawakari does not collect or store payment card numbers. Card payments are handled entirely on our payment provider's hosted checkout.

4. Who we share data with

Assigned drivers receive only the details needed to complete your trip. Our payment provider, hosting provider and email provider process data on our behalf under contract. We disclose data to authorities only where legally required.

We do not sell personal data.

5. Retention

Booking and payment records are kept for as long as required by Nigerian tax and accounting rules. Support messages are kept while they remain relevant and are then deleted.

6. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you may request access to your personal data, ask for corrections, request deletion where we have no overriding obligation to retain it, and object to certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details on our contact page.

7. Security

Data is stored on managed infrastructure with access controls, encryption in transit, and row-level restrictions so customers can only reach their own bookings.
